Surrey CC Consultation on "Transforming" Libraries and Cultural Services in Surrey.

Surrey County Council have launched a public consultation about the shape of its services in the future to help it set a sustainable budget. At present the proposal is to reduce the Cultural Services budget for 2019/20 (covering Libraries, Heritage, Surrey Arts, Adult Learning and Registration) by more than half - from £8.7 million to £4 million.

If you use County Libraries &/or the Surrey History Centre take a few minutes to read more about the consultation and the possible impact on Libraries and Cultural Services, and complete a short survey. The survey takes the form of a series of multi-choice questions & answers about your use of these services which you complete anonymously. You may optionally submit specific comments about the proposals.

The consultation is now live and the Council wishes to hear the views of as many people as possible.

The consultaion runs until Friday 4 January 2019.

The Club covers all aspects of local history within the Surrey Heath area and sometimes beyond. It aims to encourage research, documentation, publication and dissemination of local history in as many ways as possible.
